Whittier Water Polo

Newly established club with high passion and ambition

Mission

The Whittier waterpolo club was formed and established to encourage young boys and girls who want to achieve their full and maximum potential in a team environment. With our innovative approach to athlete training we lay the foundation for future success by developing young athletes to their path of achievement. Prior waterpolo experience is not required in order to join the club. Under the guidance of highly qualified coaches the Whittier waterpolo club is built and exists as an optional training and competition tool to support and provide a solid pipeline to Whittier College and potential student athletes with opportunities to further develop their skills.

Vision

Whittier waterpolo club offers an experience that reaches far beyond a physical fitness training. Within three years our club aims to become a perfectly functioning organization where athletes are trained by top coaches and specialists learning the sport and developing skills like strength, speed endurance, teamwork, patience, emotional strength and stability. We strive to build self esteem, character, confidence, teamwork and strong work ethic, and we encourage the athletes to apply these values to all aspects of their lives. They will also embrace values like respect, tolerance, fairness, solidarity and care for others. Together we will be champions in and out of the water

History

Whittier Water Polo is a newly founded water polo club with bold ambitions. Fueled by brave and dedicated coaches and a brilliant training program, the club is designed to transform every beginner into a competition-ready athlete. With a focus on excellence and innovation, Whittier Water Polo is poised to make a significant impact on the national and international water polo scene.

Benefits of Water Polo

ENDURANCE

Your body will become progressively stronger when you practice water polo.

COOLING

Exercising in the water keeps your body from overheating, which leads to feelings of exhaustion.

TEAM SPORT

Team sports build accountability and make your exercise patterns much more regular. They also build lifelong friendships.

FULL BODY

No part of your body sits still during a water polo game. Your entire body is engaged, and with repeated activity you gain increased strength.

CARDIO

To ensure proper heart health, one must partake in cardio workouts for at least 30 minutes each day. Water polo is an excellent way to do cardio training because of the constant exercise you partake in.

REDUCED IMPACT

Water acts as a cushion for the body. Even when a player gets knocked around or dives hard for the ball, there is no hard surface to fall against, and the water prevents strain on the joints.
